Bubbles in my Sealer

Oh no! What an issue to have. I must say I was confused as to why this was happening and I was getting so many asking for assistance with this issue. Brain work now necessary because it was not an something I had ever experienced.

Therefore, time to see if I could recreate the problem. I DID! At least I think I figured it out. I was asking everyone all the right questions I thought:

  1. stirring, not shaking the primer

  2. pouring into clean paint tray

  3. even, reasonable coat of sealer on paint pad

  4. not applying too much pressure when covering the board

  5. applying a light coat

Yep - all of you were doing this. But I did video an application and found what I feel is the issue. Are you lifting your pad off the board at any point? Not making one single swipe or stroke across the board ...... and off the board.

I found that anytime I lifted the pad from the board, I got air bubbles. The video was a quick unprepared visual of what I did and what happened. I am sorry it is not one of my better ones (if I have a good one) but it was a quick thought and a one handed job.

But bare with it and you can see what I am referring to and hopefully this will help you out. Another learning experience for myself to share.
