Amazon - Yes!

Amazon has taken over our shopping habits for most of us. Since I live in a very rural area, it seems it is the only place I make purchases besides groceries and fundamentals. It is where I buy my frog tape in bulk, my paint brushes if needing new ones and they are the publisher for my books.

My books, well that is a pain because I can assure you that Amazon is making all the money, not me. As said before, I only make approximately $5 per book and I understand these are expensive. I pass along any publisher's discounts when I have these, but these are rare. I felt really uncomfortable about the pricing until I picked up a quilter magazine one day and it was $16.00. WOW - now we know why everyone reads online!

Anyway that is not my thoughts this morning that prompted this. I got started early this am, while the grand kids are still asleep and I don't have to referee. I was straighten up the studio between paint drying and waiting on my first schedule customer appointment and had a thought to pass on to you.

Amazon boxes! How many can we accumulate in a week? It is several for me between book orders and other crap, and I have found a use! How frustrating is it to ball up your used tape and toss into a garbage can with a bag? Sticks to the side, can't fill the bag up as full as you'd like and pulling out of the can is a pain too.

I started using my empty Amazon boxes for my massive quantity of tape balls that I toss. These are a perfect solution. It is convenient to toss into and once it is full, I just tape the lid close and to the dumpster it goes. No more wasting garbage bags and sticky frustration along the way. Now the only trash in the trash can is anything but tape. The issue now is that I have to take the box to the local community dumpster since we don't have trash pick up.

While pulling out another box to fill this morning, it dawned on my that others may have not thought of this and could use the tip. Just trying to make our BQ addiction a little easier along the way.
