and Another......

I know some patterns are just breath taking and I have no clue how I ended up with this one in my design gallery. Maybe I saw it on a post and saved it in my never ending library. Maybe a the first customer I painted it for, provided me the image. Who can remember?

I do know it is a time consuming pattern to draw out, not because if is hard, just a lot to it. I love this part as always. I have learned after doing so many of these patterns some tricks I will share with you. Just in case you are going to tackle it.

Spirit is the name of the pattern and it is in the Barn Quilt Addiction book, Complete Resource and the Advance edition. It is featured with several different color layouts, of which I will share here.

This first image is a 4x4 that I just got off the bench for Mrs Magnusom. I think it is the 9th one I have painted so far and yes, I am getting bored with it. I have 6 more in various sizes on order, all the same color. I have taken it off my design gallery in this color combo because I would love to paint something different.

Anyway, tip I have learned on this one. I tape off the interior block from the borders and then paint it all the blue (in this case). After it dries, I then draw the remaining pattern off, using the "no grid" method so there are no lines to erase. I have found it much easier and I am not wasting tape. It is rare that i do this with any pattern but it makes sense on this one.

So that is my tip. I hope that you share pictures of this pattern that you paint. I would love to see it in other colors!

Carry on with the addiction,

Talara
