Class Description

A group of individuals have organized a fun and informative event. Barn Quilt Addicts Volunteers (BQAV) have work hard to put together the first annual meet up of barn quilt artists from all over the US & Canada. (This is not an event being held by Barn Quilt Headquarters) The event is being hosted by the Lost Providence Center for Cultural Arts in Lansing, NC. This is a 3 day event for all skill levels. This retreat is an opportunity to meet other BQ artists and enjoy time together, sharing our love of the art of making BQ's. Our retreat is being held in the beautiful mountains of Ashe County NC. The town of West Jefferson and Lansing are recognized for their hospitality and love of the arts. It is known as the "Coolest Corner of N. Carolina" We encourage families and have some activities that will include them. There will be demonstrations on different techniques such as buffalo plaid, stenciling, doing circles, among others. Presentations will be given on building your barn quilt business, do's and don't of teaching class, and Q & A opportunities. There will be a workshop on "Point Based vs Grid Based" patterns also. An artist group dinner is planned with limited availability on Friday evening and a family event on Saturday with more informative demonstrations. Classes are being offered on July 10, 11 & 12 by Barn Quilters Express for all size barn quilts.
