Susan Dodson is the face behind Smoky Mt. Barn Quilts. She started quilting at age nine and has studied and produced various crafts- furniture, pottery, candles, baskets, embroidery and quilts- in her lifetime. A friend asked her to make her a barn quilt over seven years ago, Susan realized that barn quilts are a medium that she enjoys and can complete in her busy life and has continued making them. She enjoys collaborating with people and is excited to see a piece come together from initial vision to finished reality. She paints on 1/8” aluminum core, which is lightweight, smooth and durable. Her current lead time is 4 to 8 weeks.
